Valentino Rossi: The weekend is not satisfactory for me

Racing news - Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi really underwent a bad weekend in Catalunya. Rossi was not at all competitive.

Since the free practice session, Rossi failed to show his best ability. Of the three practice sessions, the Italian rider's best position was only ranked ninth which achieved the second free practice.

The disappointing trend continued into qualifying where Rossi had to settle for starting from 13th position. Before finishing eighth in the second alias 20 seconds behind the winner Andrea Dovizioso [Ducati], in the race, Sunday (11/12/2017).

This marks Rossi's poor results on Spanish soil in 2017. Earlier in Jerez, Rossi had to finish tenth, 38 seconds behind winner Dani Pedrosa.

"So, we are very, very sad about this weekend, about the result, about the race," said Rossi at Crash.net. "Because this first is one of my favorite tracks and we expect a great race, as well as last year the race went great and I won."

"But we have little worries so we can suffer here like in Jerez, and it is very strange that in the two races I won last year this year it was the worst."

"So we were a bit worried and over the weekend we tried a lot of different things but unfortunately we were never fast enough and today the race is very, very difficult," I won the nine-times world champion.

With only eight points pocketed, Rossi has not been able to board the top. Rossi was fifth with 83 points, 23 points behind team mate Maverick Vinales, who leads the standings.
