Praveen Jordan / Debby Susanto Lost for Patience

Badminton news - The mixed doubles of Praveen Jordan / Debby Susanto have to settle for the runner-up title at the Australian Open Super Series. The defeat was recognized for lack of patience.

Praveen / Debby, seeded seventh, challenged China's first seed Zheng Siwei / Chen Qingchen in the final on Sunday (25/06/2017). Praveen / Debby started by grabbing the first game before collapsing 21-18, 14-21, 17-21.

The world number seven pair missed a golden opportunity to become champions when leading 10-3 in the third game. Unfortunately, Praveen / Debby let Zheng / Chen back in the game to snatch the next six points.

It's a turning point for Zheng / Chen to reverse the game and put Praveen / Debby under pressure. After the balance in the position 13-13, Zheng / Chen continue to go without being followed by Praveen / Debby.

"The point is we are not patient, we are always in a hurry to turn off the opponent," said Praveen told Badmintonindonesia.org. "It should not be so, we make a lot of mistakes ourselves, certainly not satisfied with this result, so a lesson for us in the world championship later." We have to introspect.

"The opponent changed his service tactics and received service, but if he served to me, his direction is far back, but if he goes to Praveen, his service is very thin in front, almost out, so hard to restore," Debby said.

"In the third game we actually have control of the game, Zheng / Chen was more daring play, just beat it first, it means do not think about anything first," he continued.
